Hi!
I recently bought a programming cable for my FT-2800. It works fine, but there was a warning not to put in the cable (in the mic-plug) unless it was powered off. A few minutes ago I wanted to add some channels and forgot to power off. In the second I entered the plug - poff! It died immediately as a loud sound came out of my nearby loudspeakers. Now it is completely dead.
Anyone else experienced this? Can I just throw it away?
Mayday!
It was hardly used...

So Sorry! I hope you found then answer by now and have fixed the rig. Never just throw a rig away some out there in the ham world will need your parts for a heart transplant on their rig. Also if no one here has an answer there just might be one on the Internet and Google search is your friend. Please let us know what happened. Johnny KD5LWU Forum Admin
