I recently acquired an FT-101E Transceiver. I initially thought that the unit unmolested inside till I got to the 1314A regulator board. I'm completely going over everything before I power the unit up. The MFC6034A was removed and replaced with an SK3669 in the 1,2,and 3 pin #s. The 4,5,and 6 solder pads are unpopulated. Nothing else in the circuit appears to be changed. To me I think there would be a better solution. Maybe just a 6v regulator.
Does anyone know of the best solution to replace that regulator with?
I know in earlier units they used 2 transistors.
