FTM-6000 Mic cable

Recently I purchased a Yeasu FTM-6000. Really a nice radio and very easy to program without outside software.

I do have one minor problem. While it comes with a remoting cable it lacks a extension cable for the mic. I did notice that it uses the same size plug as a standard telephone uses. Does anyone know whether on not a phone cable is wired the same way and if it will work. The location of the main body is about two feet father than the mic cable with reach.

Any help would be appreciated.
