I just got my FT3DR radio* with its low power plug in power supply. I read that Yaesu makes the CD 41 drop in charger and have read that you can make this device charge you battery even faster if you change the chargers power supply to a higher current handling power supply. Is this true? Or will it damage the charger? ( the resistor that seems to overheat and fail)
ie, the stock charger power supply is 10.5 VDC @ 1 amp and you go to a 10.5 VDC 3 amp power supply?
* I just got this radio and really like how well it performs. When hooked up to the Ed Fong duel band antenna I've been able to hit repeaters 45 miles away!Got to love Yaesu's quality.
