YAESU SERIAL NUMBERS
Yaesu has used the same serial number sequence on all units for at
least the past 20+ years. It breaks down like this:
First digit is the last digit in the year of manufacture -> 6 = 2006
(yes, it can be ambiguous between 2006 and 1996)
Second character (letter) corresponds to the month of manufacture ->
C = January thru N = December
Third and fourth digits are the Lot number -> Lot 01 is first release and so on up.
Last four numbers are simply sequential serial numbers -> 0001, 0002, and so on up.
I assume that the last 4 having 0001-9999 with 9,999 rigs in each lot.
