I downloaded Ham Radio Deluxe ver. 6.0.0.132 Release 6 (30 day trail) and I’m having trouble getting it to connect to my Yaesu FTDX-3000D for rig control.
I’m using a USB CAT cable (RT Systems USB-63) and installed the drivers. I’m using Windows XP and device manager shows the com port as USB-63 Radio Cable (COM 13).
After launching HDR and selecting the Connection menu for COM 13, HRD fails to connect (see image).
I have tried COM Port Auto Detect, I’ve tried each COM ports shown in the drop down menu. I’ve tried checking DRT and RST and both, and I’ve tried lowering the Speed.
I called RT Systems and the tech had me check that the drivers were present and there weren’t any conflicts, there were not. He couldn’t offer any tech support on HRD or the Yaesu rig.
I contacted Yaesu and the tech told me go to Menu 037 CAT SELECT and change the setting to from USB to RS232C. I tried that but still no connection. I believe the proper setting is USB since I’m using a USB port on my PC since I don’t have a RS232 port.
I would like to purchase a supported version of HDR 6 but not until I can get it to connect to my rig.
