Greetings fellow hams. I have a Yaesu FT-8800 mobile transceiver. I have owned the radio for about 9 months now and it is a great rig. I have a programming cable for the FT-1500 2 meter rig. This cable has the 9 pin plug on one end and the phone type plug (rj-11) on the other. However through some research, I have found that the 8800 uses a din plug for the programming instead of the rj-11 like the 1500. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make an adapter to go from the rj-11 to the din plug. I don't want to cut the plug off the cable. Also where can I Find some good software to program the 8800 with? Any help is greatly appreciated!
